Paper Temptress ~ FAMILY~ a card...

Hello Crafters!
Hope this finds you doing well.
I was inspired by Contadina K's card. I wanted to make a simple but meaningful card. Thank you CONTADINA for the inspiration!!!
I used the Cryogen White as a base for this A2 card. I inked the bottom piece with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Then I chose from my Brown Bag Kraft Package #2. I used the Brown Bag paper for the inset.  I stamped some leaves(3rd Eye) on the background and then embossed the image using my Anna Griffin "Aviary" folder. I stamped the leaves onto Heavenly White 80#.
Below is my card titled Family:

PT Family

Here are a couple of close ups:

I used several Distress Inks to color the leaves.
Hopefully as we enter into the Thanksgiving season we can all find things to be grateful for.
Remember Paper Temptress has a wide variety of awesome specialty papers.  Be sure to check out our specials.
We are also still undergoing OPERATION WRITE HOME. Might you consider joining us in making a card for our troops. More information can be found on our blog here.

Dare to dream: Lady in the Blue House

This is a page I created using my August and September Stencil Girl Stencils.
I loved all the wonderful shapes from my August set and September featured Frida
I haven't taken an art journal class but the creative team over Stencil Girl provides much inspiration. I thought I would give this a try.
Check out Stencil Girl right here!
Check out more about the Stencil Girl Club here.
My page is titled Dare to Dream: Lady in the Blue House.

Here are a few closeups :

In the above you can see the leaves and I used my green copic marker. I traced Frida on some Donna Salazar mixed media paper.

Below you can see in this close up a bit of the parrot stencil on top of the windows of the blue house and the right side of Friday:

In this closeup I used green glitter glue and some Tim Holtz inks: lawnmower green and pickled raspberry, I also use my brown acrylics to paint the monkey peeking over the edge of the house:

In this closeup is the right side and I wanted a bit of sunshine yellow to shine down on my house, this rose and leaf were colored using my Gelatos:
DARE TO DREAM
In this piece you can see I painted her name using my Texurez and if you look at it just right it looks like the monkey has it tongue out.. but I didn't mean for that to come out that way lol:

Now you can meet Frida ... DARE TO DREAM: LADY IN THE BLUE HOUSE.

I really loved watching the videos and posts by all the artists over at Stencil Girl. I like how they traced her on printed paper.
Thanks for looking.
Happy Scrappn!

A few of my favorite die cut projects

In this first one, it's my favorite attempt at a Tim Holtz tag, he's a hero for sure. I used his die the leaves and branches for this.

This one features my son opening a present that he had wanted. I cut the letters OMG and the stars from my Silhouette Cameo and the flourish is a Cheery Lynn Die that I now own:

In this next one it's in tribute to my late Uncle Marvin, I used my Sil. Cameo to cut out the words white feather and the flourishes along the left side. I liked how they almost looked like hearts:

This one I used the Cheery Lynn die flourish again to complete the layout:

This one I used my Sil Cam to cut out the beautiful butterfly as shown below:

These next two I used my Heartfelt Creations Dies and made it into the Semi-finalist round. How cool:

In this next layout I used my Sil Cameo and my Heartfelt Creation dies :

In this layout I did another combo of Heartfelt Creation dies and some flourishes and butterfly from my Sil. Cameo:

In this layout I used various flourishes cut from my Sil Cameo:

In this DT project I used some new dies I got from my local store to make this card, I believe these are Memory Box:

In this next one I used some of the new dies from the local store as accents, Memory Box:

In this layout I used my Cricut Expression to cut out the numbers:

This next one is one of my favorite cuts from my which is the giant floral frame on the left and I also cut the flowers out of vellum from the Cameo, also DT work.:

These are just a few examples of my projects using die cuts in their various forms. I didn't realize I had so many and I had to stop so this post wouldn't go on and on.
Thanks for looking and Happy Scrappn!

Paper Temptress for my ATC

Hello Crafters!!

It's my day here at The Paper Temptress.

I wanted to make an ATC for the swap I'm involved in. Well my ATC needed the fabulous papers that are available at The Paper Temptress.

I had to use some more of my Silver Lustre Paper for the Skull. I also used Neenah Solar White 80#.

My absolute FAVORITE paperline, the entire Lustre paperline is on sale for 25% off! This cardstock has a beautiful pearl finish and can be EASILY color coordinated with any of your projects using inks especially distress inks but still maintains the beautiful pearl finish! The six beautiful finishes that are available in the Lustre paperlines compliments any design too.

Here are some closeups:

Here is the final project:

Operation Write Home Blog Hop

Hello Hopper! Thank you sooo much for coming by!

We brought our creativity together in the hopes that we would inspire you to join us (DT members) in doing a good deed!

Most of you know our Boys and Gals from the Armed Forces are deployed all over the world. Sometimes these men and woman are in places that make it very hard, or they’re far away from anywhere that they can pick up a sweet card to send a quick note home. Luckily, they have OPERATION WRITE HOME (OWH). OWH is a non-profit organization that sends special boxes filled with cards to soldiers all over the world. How can you help OWH keep the good deed going? Making cards!!! Yes! OWH angels receive tons of handmade cards from crafters all over the world, then they check and organize cards to be sent out to our soldiers.

Now we would love for you to join us to help OWH. We thought it would be amazing fun to do a blog hop to inspire you! Design Teams from Paper TemptressOozak and Color me Creative Class will join together in one amazing Card drive HOP. The fun just gets better! You can join in by making as many cards as you possibly can..the more you create the better your chances are to win one or more prizes.  Here are the guidelines on how to enter and win!  PLEASE remember that…IMPORTANT….OWH guidlines MUST be followed to be entered to win a prize.

You can join in by making a project (following OWH – size and safety guidelines), entering a picture of the project on the hop inlinkz (One project linked per person please) then mailing the project to us. We would loooove it if you could send as many as you can by November, 7th (we will screen and send all to OWH) . You could win super prizes from amazing super generous sponsors!!! YES!! You do a good deed and you also can win a sweet gift!!!

Please visit the Hero Blog to see how much they appreciate the cards :)

THIS HOP DOES NOT START UNTIL MIDNIGHT ON THE 2ND OF OCTOBER!

HERE IS MY PROJECT:

My digital image is from Sweet Pea. The name of this super cute image is Karen Middleton's Strawberry Mouse-digi.  Sweet Pea Stamps has a wide variety of awesome digi's and rubber stamps. I used the OWH Floral Package from Paper Temptress. This was difficult to keep it clean and simple but I wanted my card to be "battle ready".
♥♥♥
It’s time to HOP around. Leave little note as you pass by these lovely designers’ blogs! Don’t forget to add your project to the inlinkz at the end of the Hop! You will also find the address to mail your cards at the end of the hop. You can Hop throughout the month of October. This way everyone in their own time can hop and join in!
